Congratulations to Kate and Aubrie, our Best Darn Yard Sale Sign Contest winners! Kate and Aubrie were helping their mom out with her moving sale today. In addition to helping organize and run the sale, the girls designed, created and installed the signage.
Aubrie created the design in Photoshop, then uploaded the jpeg file to a poster design software program. From there, she printed out the sign (which covered 12 sheets of paper). She taped the papers up to her window and traced the design onto poster board.
Each of the signs for the moving sale were exactly the same, with quality, hand-lettered text. The text was large enough to be seen easily from passing cars, and the sign was simple and succinct with the words, “Moving Sale,” time and address.
The signs were all printed on fluorescent yellow poster board and installed so that the poster didn’t bend and curl in the breeze.
Signs were placed on both corners of the street, along major roads.
Another sign in the driveway clearly marked the yard sale.
Kate and Aubrie received balloons, an official Signs.com Best Darn Yard Sale Sign Contest Winner certificate and a gift card to Coldstone Creamery. Great job!
